Hi,

It would be useful if you could provide us with more information about what you are doing in order to have a better understanding of your scenario.
For example, how are you implementing the Extended Splash Screen, how you are trying to navigate to your home page after, why you cannot navigate to it, etc.

I am having the same problem. I am using the guidance from the Dev Center (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh868191.aspx) but am not sure how to use the Prism Navigation Service to move from the splash screen to the extended splash screen to my main (initial) page. Also whether to use a viewmodel to perform the initialization tasks (which include some data access) to be run concurrent with the extended splash screen. It would be helpful if you'd simply publish a quick-start for this, since I believe it is a common scenario to need some additional time up front to do initialization when your app starts, and I think it should be illustrated using MVVM if that's appropriate.

i'm considering using the splash example created in the JumpStart MVA course (found here: https://xaml.codeplex.com/ , see part 2 for the complete JumpStart app, and the training here: http://www.microsoftvirtualacademy.com/training-courses/advanced-windows-store-app-development-using-c-jump-start)

my thought here is that the initial app.xaml and code-behind can be light with only basic required frameworks.. and then launch the 'apphub' (or mainpage) from the extended splash page.. how exactly to do this, i'm not sure yet (i'm still learning all of this).. but that is the direction i'm attempting to go in.

@Damian this is the guideline I believe the OP was referencing ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh465338.aspx ) Do you think that my idea of building a light startup splash and then loading the Prism framework and other app requirements from the extended splash page would be the right way to go?

well, i've tried for a couple days to figure out how to do this as well, even with all the examples floating around.. i just can not seem to get this working using Prism.
