Hi,

I am currently building a relatively big application on WinRT (universal), and i decide to try out Prism for WinRT. However, after scanning over the doc and sample, I seems the modularity feature is not mentioned. Isn't it a best practise for WinRT, or is it just missing?

Best regards,

What I can see so far is, this part of Prism can't be ported over WinRT. View this Channel9 video to get a better understanding of how Prism works on this platform.

Hope this answers your question.

Are you looking for modular deployment or modular development?

When we created Prism for Windows Runtime, we considered bringing modularity features to this version. We decided against it because:
  • Store apps run in the sandbox so they do not allow plug-ins
  • Store apps are meant to be task based so they should be smaller than traditional WPF apps
So what are you looking for in modularity in Windows Store Apps?

Fyi, Prism does support development of apps for WinRT.

Thanks for your responses.

In fact, i am just curious if there is a mechanism like the modules in Prism to make things more flexible (not just reuse controls) to plug-unplug features.

Thanks a lot.
